With a strong Catholic background, Monica Mattioli is the perfect fit as the new Director of Development of Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice Inc.

Monica Mattioli is the new Director of Development of Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice Inc.

Hailing from Upstate New York, she has a well-rounded background working with Catholic organizations, including most recently at St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, N.Y., where she was the executive director of alumni operations and adjunct instructor of strategic leadership/curriculum developer. She also worked at the Sisters of Mercy Outreach Center in Rochester, N.Y. as director of development and Catholic Charities in the Diocese Rochester as the director of corporate compliance.

“I am happy to be back in Florida,” Mattioli said. She previously lived in Florida, and was eager to return with a role at Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice.

Mattioli was brought to Catholic Charities as a senior administrator responsible for planning, organizing and directing all organizational fundraising endeavors, as well as efforts to expand donor participation and create community, philanthropic, private, and public sector relationships. In other words, she is a matchmaker.

“As a development professional, my goal is to connect resources to advance the well-being of Catholic Charities and the community,” Mattioli said. “It is very gratifying to bring together donors with the causes they care about.”

“I am particularly moved by Catholic Charities’ mission of providing help, creating hope, and serving all,” Mattioli said. “I plan to reach out to the generous and caring people in Southwest Florida on behalf of the individuals and families that are served by Catholic Charities.”

As she has settled into her new position, Mattioli said she has been meeting with supporters of Catholic Charities and exploring partnerships to work together to lift people out of poverty and offer a path to self-sufficiency.

Monica Mattioli can be contacted at 941-355-4680, ext. 302 or at mmattioli@ccdis1.org.
