We are taught that everyone deserves the feeling of a having enough food to eat, the comfort of a roof over head, the well-being of learning valuable skills, and the relief of knowing there is help to overcome your obstacles.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice Inc. offers the people of Southwest Florida the means to move beyond poverty and achieve self-sufficiency. Give food, shelter, education and support this summer. Catholic Charities feeds the hungry with food pantries, a soup kitchen, and food programs that administer nutrition. You can end hunger with a bountiful gift that bolsters the neediest.

Catholic Charities supports the most vulnerable among us with care for victims, relief for families at an impasse, aid for lonely seniors, and navigation that avoids the loss of a home. Support of Catholic Charities can offer stability with a compassionate gift of advocacy and guidance.

Education is a cornerstone to success for people of all ages, so Catholic Charities educates with programs that prepare preschoolers for kindergarten, instruct adults in English, and provide after school and summer opportunities for students. Programs that make a difference

Catholic Charities runs several key programs that make a tangible difference in the life of the individuals and families it serves.

For example, Our Mother’s House of Catholic Charities is a residential program based in Venice for homeless mothers and their babies that offers a secure environment in which to become independent through education, vocational training, and personal growth. The Human Trafficking Victim Assistance Program offers intensive case management services to victims that includes transitional housing that helps them assimilate into the community. The Weekend Power Pack Food Program in Collier County aids homeless children with food to sustain them when they are not in school where they often receive their only nutritious meal for the day.

During the dog days of summer, you can provide the necessities to eager families and individuals yearning to obtain a better life. Each year, Catholic Charities serves more than 40,000 families and individuals regardless of race, nationality or creed. A total of 93 cents of every dollar donated goes to programs and services of Catholic Charities that assist those in need each day. In addition, Charity Navigator regularly gives Catholic Charities its top 4-Star rating for is fiscal responsibility.
