Evangelization

“The Church exists to evangelize.” Saint Pope Paul VI

The mission of the Office of Evangelization is to bring Jesus and the fullness of the Catholic faith into every corner of diocesan life – homes, parishes, schools, workplaces, prisons, and all of society – so that every person in the diocese may draw closer to the Lord Jesus and His holy, Catholic Church for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.

What is Evangelization?

Evangelization is “the proclamation of Christ and his Gospel by word and the testimony of life, in fulfilment of Christ’s command.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church)

Various works of the office include but are not limited to: parish workshops and trainings; Men’s and Women’s Conferences; Eucharistic revival events and resources; annual traveling Rosary Congress; Bible studies; conferences, missions and retreats; marriage preparation and enhancement seminars; Natural Family Planning training (NFP); youth & young adult ministries, trainings and conferences; World Youth Day; annual diocesan youth rally; National Evangelization Team (NET) retreats; diocesan-approved scouting programs; sports ministry; prison outreach; and courage meetings – a ministry to those with same sex attraction. The Office of Evangelization also supports the various diocesan-approved ecclesial movements and apostolates.
