St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Cape Coral rallied more than 600 people to not only come together to pack food for needy children around the world, but to also raise money and collect food for the needy locally.

Faithful of all ages at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Cape Coral participated in the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MobilePack event Feb. 20-21.

The Parish participated in the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MobilePack event Feb. 20-21. In five shifts of work the volunteers packed 132,192 ManaPack meals in the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Hall. The volunteers were from the Parish and nearby Christ Lutheran Church along with honors students from the St. Andrew Catholic School.

The Parish also had a food drive as part of this event and has delivered more than 1,100 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Cape Coral Caring Center.

The ManaPack meals that were packed will be shipped by Feed My Starving Children to one of more than 70 countries. A Christian non-profit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries. They are used in orphanages, schools, clinics and feeding programs so as to break the cycle of poverty.
