The event is the coordinated effort of the English and Spanish Catholic Charismatic Renewal Commissions of the Diocese of Venice thanks to a challenge from Bishop Frank J. Dewane for the groups to work together to commemorate this special anniversary.

The Conference theme, “A New Pentecost for a New Evangelization,” will feature speakers in both English and Spanish including Bishop Dewane; Bishop Emeritus Sam Jacobs of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in Louisiana; Father Juan Carlos Sack, STL; Jose Soto, Coordinator of the Hispanic Renewal and Coordinator, Ministry V Encounter, Central Deanery; and Renee Marazon, President, English CCR Commission, National Service Committee Council Member. There will also be a combined English/Spanish session for youth, ages 13-17, presented by Dalysse Soto-Rivera.

Renee Marazon and Jose Soto are serving as the English/Spanish Co-Chairs for the Conference. Both English and Spanish Catholic Charismatic Renewal Commissions are eager to use their charisms to renew the fire of the Holy Spirit in their lives and prepare for the Conference.

“This event will celebrate the love and power of the Holy Spirit at work in God’s people, sanctifying them and endowing them with gifts for ministry!” Marazon said.

Doors open at noon for registration and gathering for prayer and praise. The Conference begins at 1 p.m. and concludes with a 7 p.m. Mass with Bishop Dewane presiding as the main celebrant. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for youth 13 – 17. Dinner is included.

Space is filling up fast, and pre-registration is required at For more information about the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the Golden Jubilee Celebration please visit or contact your parish prayer group leaders for details.
