The Office of Family Life is hosting a Bereavement seminar for those who have suffered a Miscarriage and/or Stillborn. Deacon Henry deMena holds a Master’s degree in counseling with extensive training and experience in Bereavement.
Have you experienced the loss of a child by miscarriage or stillbirth? Grieving the loss of a child is always very difficult, but grieving the loss by miscarriage or stillbirth has added complexities that are mostly ignored by family and friends. Often miscarriages are never even discussed with people and if a mom/dad does, it is often discounted as “no big deal.” It is as if nothing really ever happened. Having worked with many after miscarriage, no big deal is far from the truth. The bond between a mom/dad and their baby is strong long before birth and the general lack of sensitivity is truly sad. Join a presentation on August 2, 2018 focused on helping those who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth or are a family or friend who wants to learn to better help someone. There will be prayer, a presentation and an opportunity for to share, if you want to.
Dinner will be provided at no cost but we require sign up so we can plan for food. We hope you can join us!
