The Church calls Catholic schools to provide an integral education that develops the entire person – Mind, Body and Spirit. Ensuring an education that is strongly rooted in the teachings of Christ and the Catholic tradition is the core of the educational program in the Diocese of Venice.
The foundational subjects taught in school begin with Religion and Theology. In these courses, student’s learn about the teachings of the church, scripture, church history, and ultimately, how to lead a life of centered in the faith. These classes are the foundation of all that is taught and extend from Religion and Theology into all subject areas and activities in the school.
Students are provided regular opportunities to practice the faith and participate in the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation. Outside of Liturgy, students join in retreats, seasonal prayer, and daily prayer throughout the school day. Additionally, outreach to those in need in the local and global community is an important part of the student’s faith formation.
As students enter Catholic school, each is enriched with a robust and challenging academic curriculum, but also one that deepens the life of faith life.
