Where does my child receive his or her sacraments?

Children receive their sacraments through your parish. Please contact your parish religious education office to register for the sacraments with them.

On average, how long does it take for my child to receive his or her sacraments?

In our Diocese, it takes two years of religious education formation and sacramental preparation for your child receives his or her sacraments. Please contact your parish religious education office for more information.

Can my child receive his or her religious education formation and sacramental preparation at his or her Catholic School?

Your child receives his or her religious education daily at the Catholic School; however, the sacramental preparation is done through the parish religious education office with the parish community and is not a part of the school.

Are there any other requirements prior to my child’s reception of his or her sacraments?
Some parishes hold retreats for the sacraments as part of their programs or require Confirmation Saint reports. Others may hold catechetical classes for you as the primary catechist (teacher) of the Faith to your child. The parish religious education office will have a complete answer for you.
