The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. Yearly, on Oct. 7, the Universal Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in honor of the Blessed Mother. October was also the month in which Mary appeared for the last time to shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, urging them to “say the rosary every day to obtain peace for the world.”
In celebration of the Blessed Virgin, the Annual Diocese of Venice Rosary Congress will take place at many parishes throughout the Diocese of Venice between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9, 2026.
The theme for the 2026 Eucharistic Rosary Congress is “My spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
The Eucharistic Rosary Congress will unfold differently at each local parish but usually will begin with the celebration of daily Mass and end with Mass at the same time the next day. During the 24 hours between the two Masses, perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is usually offered, with the five decades of the Rosary being prayed every hour. Many parishes will also have the Sacrament of Penance available at some point during the 24 hours.
“The abundance of prayer offered through this diocesan-wide effort will undoubtedly draw from the Lord many graces upon our families, the Diocese, the Universal Church, the nation, and the world,” said Jim Gontis, Diocesan Director of Evangelization.
