To answer the Holy Father’s call to celebrate and highlight the central role families play in transmitting the Gospel and shaping society, the Diocese of Venice continues to advance programming and is developing many new and exciting initiatives. We seek to provide ongoing formation through our annual Men’s and Women’s Conferences, which aim to equip fathers/sons and mothers/daughters to grow in knowledge and virtue.
The Diocese forms couples for Sacramental Marriage utilizing a virtue based, mentor led program that accompanies each into the life of a Parish. Couples are recognized who give beautiful witness to the sanctity and fidelity to the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony through our annual Anniversary Masses. Families who suffer the loss of a loved one are offered bereavement workshops and when necessary, divorce healing. Parents are assisted in guarding the home as a Safe Haven through our annual celebration of Safe Haven Sunday.
Families are empowered to become active agents of the family apostolate by hosting a Together in Holiness Marriage Enrichment Conference which aims to inspire spouses to grow together in holiness and assists parents to form their children in the Catholic Faith.
