The most successful parish religious education programs are directed by fully qualified personnel. A Director of Religious Education holds a Master’s Degree in the field of Theology. A Coordinator of Religious Education holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. An Assistant of Religious Education holds at least a Basic Certificate in Catechesis from the Diocese of Venice. Each Pastor is ultimately responsible for catechesis in the parish and hires personnel for the total Christian formation.
The Office of Religious Education offers policies and guidelines for hiring catechetical personnel, celebration of sacraments, and catechetical curriculum.
